Police Investigate Shooting Death on Lumpkin Street

The Texarkana Texas Police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead after a man opened fire on a group of friends visiting with friends on the front porch of a home in the 400 block of Lumpkin Street.

TTPD Media Release:

Texarkana, Texas Police were dispatched at 6:33 PM to a residence in the 400 block of Lumpkin St. Once on scene, officers located a 33-year-old black male, suffering from a gunshot wound. The black male was transported to a local hospital for treatment, however, he died as a result of his injuries. The identity of the black male is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The initial investigation concluded the 33-year-old black male victim was visiting friends at 405 Lumpkin St. While the victim was on the front porch, a black male suspect pulled up in front of the house in a light blue Chevrolet minivan with Texas Tags. The suspect exited the vehicle and began firing multiple shots with a handgun at the home, striking the victim once in the head. The suspect then fled the scene in the minivan. Detectives are currently investigating the case and examining the evidence.
