Quail Tools is planning a major expansion at TexAmericas Center, with Superior Energy Services purchasing approximately 44 acres adjacent to the company’s existing facility in New Boston.
The expansion is expected to support the company’s growing tubular rental operations and will provide additional space for manufacturing, equipment repair, storage and other operational functions.
According to TexAmericas Center, Superior Energy Services plans to make a significant capital investment in the property and supporting infrastructure. Groundbreaking is anticipated later this year, with hiring expected to begin as the project develops and staffing needs are finalized.
The additional acreage will allow Quail Tools to expand its existing New Boston operation without having to establish a separate location.
“Quail Tools has established an important operation at TexAmericas Center, and this project gives the company a direct path to expand on that foundation,” said Scott Norton, CEO and Executive Director of TexAmericas Center. “The ability to secure additional acreage beside an existing facility, use infrastructure already in place and plan for long-term growth is exactly the kind of flexibility we work to provide our tenants.”
Quail Tools specializes in tubular rental solutions and technical support for onshore drilling operations. Its equipment inventory includes drill pipe, heavyweight drill pipe, drill collars, tubing, handling tools and related equipment.
The company also provides maintenance and quality-assurance services. Equipment is stored and maintained at regional service centers before being transported to customer job sites. After deployment, equipment is returned for cleaning, inspection and recertification.
Quail Tools’ New Boston branch currently supports rental, maintenance, logistics and field-service operations for drilling and production activities throughout the region.
“Expanding next to our existing facility gives us an efficient path to add capacity and strengthen the work we already perform in New Boston,” said Ron Schumacher, Facilities/Operations Support. “We can leverage infrastructure already in place, bring additional operational functions together in one location and preserve the flexibility needed for future growth.”
The location of the new property was a key factor in the expansion plans. By purchasing land directly adjacent to its current facility, Quail Tools will be able to maintain a unified operational footprint and more efficiently coordinate equipment movement, inspection, manufacturing, repair and storage.
TexAmericas Center says the arrangement will also allow the company to take advantage of existing infrastructure while avoiding duplication of resources.
The expansion adds to continued industrial development at TexAmericas Center, which encompasses roughly 12,000 development-ready acres and approximately 3.5 million square feet of commercial and industrial space on the Texas side of the Texarkana metropolitan area.
TexAmericas Center has been ranked among the nation’s top 10 industrial parks by Business Facilities magazine for seven consecutive years, including a No. 5 ranking in 2026.
The organization also operates an on-site 350-car rail yard and more than 30 miles of rail across its properties. Seven rail lines converge in the Texarkana region, providing access to major transportation routes serving Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana and Oklahoma.
For Quail Tools, the 44-acre purchase provides room to expand its New Boston operations while keeping its rental, manufacturing, repair, storage and logistics functions together at one location.
Groundbreaking is expected later this year, with additional hiring plans to be announced as development of the expansion progresses.
