Randy Sams Outreach Shelter is reaching out to the community for donations to help serve its annual Thanksgiving meal to homeless and less fortunate individuals in the Texarkana area on Thanksgiving Day. The shelter is in need of a variety of food items, as well as financial and clothing donations to ensure the event is a success.
The items needed for the Thanksgiving meal include turkeys, hams, potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, sodas, bottled water, napkins, plastic utensils, plastic cups, paper plates, to-go containers, trash bags, and hand sanitizer. Additionally, cold weather items such as new socks, underwear, and other warm clothing are essential to help those in need during the upcoming winter months.
Randy Sams Outreach Shelter is also seeking financial contributions to help cover the cost of food, paper products, table rentals, and other supplies for the meal. Donations can be made through the shelter’s website at www.randysams.org or by mailing a check.
“We are so grateful for the generosity of our community,” said Lori, a representative from the shelter. “Your donations truly make a difference for those who might otherwise go without a hot meal or the warmth they need this season.”
Anyone wishing to donate food or other items is encouraged to contact Lori at 903-792-7024. For more information on how to donate or volunteer, visit www.randysams.org or call the shelter directly at 903-792-7024.
