For those looking to get creative, the Decorate-a-Duck Challenge is also underway. A $100 donation gets participants a giant XL duck to design however they choose. Decorated ducks must be returned by August 29 and will be judged by a panel of local celebrities.
All proceeds from the Duck Derby stay in Texarkana to support Red Shield Youth Center programs, which provide children with homework help, life skills, and hot meals after school.
