A TISD Crossing Guard is in critical condition after being struck by a motorist on Summerhill Road in front of Texas High School this morning. The 68-year-old male crossing guard is currently at Christus St. Michael.

    Media Release:
A crossing guard at Texas High School was struck this morning while directing traffic before school.
A 76 year old man was driving his Ford pickup southbound on Summerhill Road and had gotten into the turn lane in preparation of making a left turn into the Summerhill Square parking lot. He apparently didn’t see the crossing guard there and struck him.
The 68 year old crossing guard was transported to Christus St. Michael Hospital, where he is currently listed in critical condition.
We are still investigating the crash. If anyone witnessed it and have not yet talked to one of our traffic officers, please call us at 903-798-3116.

After more than 40 years with commercial broadcasting, I decided to do my own thing by blogging, and taking "unconsultant" gigs. It affords me the ability to stay super involved in the community, but still, have plenty of time with my 3 granddaughters and other projects.
