‘Season of Lights’ to Help Raise Funds for Mission Texarkana Food Kitchen

The good folks at one of the region’s newest and quickly becoming favorite Christmas attraction, “Season of Lights” will be kicking in for Mission Texarkana by having donation buckets and accepting donations tonight, Tuesday, December 4, 2018. They will also be collecting food for The Mission on Friday, December 21.

The Baggetts and their staff at Season of Lights will also be accepting food donations for Mission Texarkana on Friday, December 21. So, if you have been planning to take the family to see this new Drive-thru Christmas Light experience, do it tonight, or December 21.

We spoke to Mission Texarkana Executive Director Cody Howard:

Hundreds of our neighbors made in the image of God suffer from the lack of basic necessities, leading to malnourishment, sickness, and even death. We are deeply grateful for Season of Lights supporting us in our mission feed, clothe, and love them.

We asked Kim Baggett, at Season of Lights, about their first season and about helping out with Mission Texarkana and she told us,

Once we overcame the Grinchy weather we have been open and running smoothly.  We are creating family traditions for many years!  Over the next few weeks, our stage will host many local entertainers.  Santa and Mrs. Claus will be here every Friday and Saturday night for pictures.  They will also be coming a few other nights to mingle and visit!  You can see the Grinch every night at Season of Lights!
Along with donation tonight we will also do a food drive for Mission Texarkana on Friday, December 21st.  Anyone who brings canned foods to the gate will get $5 off their gate entry!

After more than 40 years with commercial broadcasting, I decided to do my own thing by blogging, and taking "unconsultant" gigs. It affords me the ability to stay super involved in the community, but still, have plenty of time with my 3 granddaughters and other projects.
