At approximately 8:25 on Tuesday night, authorities received a distressing call regarding a shooting incident at an apartment complex nestled in the 1600 block of Allen Lane. Upon arrival, law enforcement officers discovered a 22-year-old man inside one of the apartments, sustaining gunshot wounds to his arm and hip.
The victim recounted a chilling encounter with his assailant, identified as Reginald “Macho” Sirls. According to the victim’s testimony, he and his girlfriend were in the midst of disposing of trash when Sirls, without uttering a single word, approached and initiated gunfire. With swift agility, Sirls swiftly fled the scene on foot, leaving the victim injured and in dire need of medical attention. Fortunately, medical responders promptly transported the wounded victim to a nearby hospital, where medical professionals assured that his injuries, though serious, were not life-threatening.
In a surprising turn of events, the victim disclosed a prior acquaintance with the alleged shooter, indicating a friendship that evidently soured in the most violent of fashions. Authorities, acting swiftly in response to the incident, have procured a felony Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon warrant for the arrest of Sirls, who, at just 17 years of age, is now a fugitive from justice.
Despite exhaustive efforts, law enforcement officials have yet to apprehend Sirls, prompting a public appeal for assistance. Citizens are urged to report any sightings or information regarding Sirls’ whereabouts to the Texarkana Police Department at 903-798-3116 or anonymously to Texarkana Area Crime Stoppers at 903-793-STOP.

As the investigation continues, the community remains on edge, grappling with the unsettling aftermath of this brazen act of violence within their midst.
