The Bowie County Sheriff’s Office reports that a suspect in a Sunday morning assault in Redwater, Texas is in custody. Dakoda Dodd, 22, was the subject of a manhunt on Sunday in the area of Red Oak Road and FM 3098.
Law enforcement personnel from multiple agencies including the Bowie County Sheriff’s Office, Texas D.P.S., and Officers from the T.D.C.J. Telford Unit actively searched the area for Dodd with the use of manpower, helicopter, and dogs. Dodd was taken into custody a little after 1:00 p.m.
Reports are that Dodd was wanted for assaulting his mother. Some reports are that she was severely beaten, some news outlets report that the woman may have been assaulted with a baseball bat.
The victim was flown to a hospital in Shreveport, Louisiana and her condition is unknown at this time.
