Congratulations to and much appreciation for Corporal Randy McAdams of the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department. Corporal McAdams has been named TAPD 2020 Officer of the Year. We are grateful for his dedication and service to our community.
    Media Release:

On October 7, 2020, the Meritorious Awards Committee selected Corporal Randy McAdams as
the department’s Officer of the Year. Corporal McAdams was also voted Officer of the 2 nd
Quarter after responding to an incident on April 24, 2020, where he later received a Life Saving
    Award.

On April 24, 2020, Corporal McAdams responded to an accident involving a pedestrian. The
victim was a 12-year-old boy who had been hit by a vehicle while riding his bicycle. When
Corporal McAdams arrived on scene, he found the child unresponsive and without a pulse.
Corporal McAdams quickly started CPR on the child and continued giving CPR until the Fire
and EMS personnel arrived. While Corporal McAdams was giving CPR, he was able to detect a
pulse and help the child regain consciousness before he was transported to the hospital.

Corporal McAdams has shown a level of dedication to the profession of law enforcement above
and beyond the call of duty. He is truly a valued asset to this department and to the citizens of
    Texarkana, Arkansas.

After more than 40 years with commercial broadcasting, I decided to do my own thing by blogging, and taking "unconsultant" gigs. It affords me the ability to stay super involved in the community, but still, have plenty of time with my 3 granddaughters and other projects.
