On Friday, February 16, 2024, the Texarkana Area Veterans Council will be hosting its 24th Annual Veteran’s Benefit Chili Cook-Off at the Truman Arnold Center, Texarkana College. The event will run from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, inviting chili enthusiasts from across Northeast Texas and Southwest Arkansas to indulge in an array of tantalizing chili concoctions.
Attendees can expect to experience a diverse range of chili flavors, from the wild and tangy to the downright outlandish. With numerous entries vying for the title of best chili, visitors will have the opportunity to taste them all and cast their votes for their favorites.
Admission to the cook-off is priced at $8.00, which grants attendees access to sample all the chili varieties on offer and the chance to win exciting door prizes. All proceeds from the event will go towards supporting the Texarkana Area Veterans Council’s mission of assisting local veterans and facilitating the purchase of essential transportation, such as vans, when needed.
The event also coincides with “Salute to Hospitalized Veterans Week,” emphasizing the council’s dedication to honoring and supporting veterans in need.
