Get ready to declutter your homes and recycle old electronics as the Texarkana Texas Department of Parks & Recreation gears up to host a community-wide yard sale and electronics recycling day at Spring Lake Park. Scheduled for Saturday, April 27, from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm, this event offers an opportunity for residents to clear out unwanted items while also promoting sustainability through electronic recycling.

Residents interested in participating in the yard sale can reserve a 20’x20′ booth space at the Southwest Center on 7th Street or by phone at 903.798.3978. The cost to reserve a space is a mere $15, providing sellers with a platform to showcase their items to a large audience.

In addition to the yard sale, the event encourages environmentally conscious practices by offering electronic recycling services. Items eligible for recycling include a wide range of electronic devices, from computers and printers to gaming consoles and televisions. By responsibly disposing of these items, attendees can contribute to reducing electronic waste and protecting the environment.

“We’re excited to bring the community together for a day of commerce and environmental stewardship,” said organizers. “This event not only provides an opportunity for residents to sell and shop for unique items but also encourages responsible disposal of electronic waste.”

For more information about the event or to reserve a booth space, individuals can contact the Southwest Center at 903.798.3978. Don’t miss out on this chance to support the community while also making a positive impact on the environment. Mark your calendars for April 27 and head down to Spring Lake Park for a day of shopping, recycling, and community engagement.

After more than 40 years with commercial broadcasting, I decided to do my own thing by blogging, and taking "unconsultant" gigs. It affords me the ability to stay super involved in the community, but still, have plenty of time with my 3 granddaughters and other projects.
