Texarkana Live Entertainment the Weekend of February 6 & 7

This Super Bowl Weekend brings Mardi Gras excitement to downtown Texarkana and a lot of great live entertainment around town. Our community partners at Tony Langford Roofing and Whiskey River Country Club have the list of the best in Texarkana.

This weekend kicks off bright and early with one of Texarkana’s coldest traditions for a warm-hearted cause. The 2026 Polar Plunge for Special Olympics Arkansas happens Saturday morning at The Big Dam Waterpark. Registration starts at 9:00 a.m., with the plunge itself set for 10:00 a.m. Every year, thousands of brave souls across the state jump into freezing water to support Special Olympics Arkansas, helping provide opportunity, inclusion, and life-changing experiences for more than 19,500 athletes and young athletes statewide. Whether you’re plunging, cheering, or just there for moral support and hot coffee, it’s all for an incredible cause. For more information or questions, you can contact camie@specialolympicsarkansas.org.

Once everyone thaws out, the party rolls straight into downtown. The 2026 Texarkana Mardi Gras Parade takes over Front Street Plaza on Saturday, February 7, with festivities beginning at 10:00 a.m. Expect a full day of food, vendors, kids’ attractions, and family-friendly fun — and best of all, admission is free. The parade itself rolls at 3:00 p.m., bringing beads, music, and that unmistakable Mardi Gras energy right through the heart of downtown.

And yes… it’s also Super Bowl weekend, which means recliners are already reserved and spots on couches will go fast, snacks will be over-prepared, and friendships may be tested over referees and commercials. Statistically speaking, the team that protects the football and wins the turnover battle usually walks away with the trophy — but let’s be honest, most folks are betting just as hard on the coin toss, the halftime show, and how long it takes before someone yells at the TV. One thing is certain: win or lose, Texarkana will be well-fed and well-entertained.

After more than 40 years with commercial broadcasting, I decided to do my own thing by blogging, and taking "unconsultant" gigs. It affords me the ability to stay super involved in the community, but still, have plenty of time with my 3 granddaughters and other projects.
