Arkansas State Police are investigating a fatal accident that occurred Saturday night on Highway 237 near Old Salem Road. The preliminary report states that Christopher Chaffin, 37, of Texarkana Arkansas was struck and killed by a GMC Acadia as he walked along the roadway.
According to the Arkansas State Police preliminary report, the accident occurred at 11:30 pm on Saturday night. The driver, who has not been identified, was driving a 2016 GMC Acadia northbound on Highway 237. Chaffin, according to the report, was walking in the northbound lane of traffic when he was struck and killed.
The accident remains under investigation.
