Texarkana Native is Now Officially a Hall of Famer

Texarkana native Carl Finch, front man for the Polka band “Brave Combo” has officially been inducted into the International Polka Association Hall of Fame. Carl has been preaching Polka for almost 40 years, and truly deserves this honor.

BraveComboSimpsons (1)Based in Denton, Texas, Carl formed the band Brave Combo in 1979. The band has produced 34 albums in that time, and has won countless awards. The band won a Grammy in 1999 for the “Best Polka Album” category with their record “Polkasonic”, Brave Combo and Brave Combo has even made a few appearances on “The Simpsons” and the cartoon “Futurama”.

This is a huge honor for Finch, Carl told Polkabeat.com,

“I look at all of these things, but the Hall of Fame means that my adventure through this art – polka – has now been not only recognized, but lauded by people who
have been doing this forever.”
