The Texarkana Arkansas Police Department is currently on the scene of an overnight homicide at a convenience store on Stateline Avenue.
Investigators on the scene were able to offer little information at this time, but we were told a large group of people had gathered in the parking lot at the EZ Mart Store located at the intersection of Stateline at E. 49th Street when an altercation led to homicide.
Police will be releasing more information later today.
APD is investigating the death of Joseph Ross, 26, of Texarkana. Ross was in the parking lot of 4524 N. Stateline early Sunday morning when gunshots were fired.Ross was privately transported to St. Michaels hospital where he was pronounced deceased.Ross will be transferred to the Arkansas State Crime Lab in Little Rock for autopsy.As with any other crime, anyone with information on this crime is asked to contact the Criminal Investigation Division at (903) 798-3154 or Crimestoppers at (903) 793-7867 or STOP.
