Texarkana Police report that there has been a recent rise in catalytic converter thefts in our area, and in broad daylight in heavily-trafficked areas. Some areas hit have included gym and movie theatre parking lots.

These guys are getting pretty gutsy. Over the last few days, we’ve had a rash of catalytic converter thefts – including at least six today in broad daylight while the victims were inside a store or restaurant. It only takes a couple of minutes to cut one off and get out of there.If you see someone suspicious crawling around under a vehicle – especially if they’re in a parking lot – please call 911. If they leave in another vehicle, try to get a description and license plate number if possible.
