Texarkana will once again roll out the red carpet for an unforgettable evening of celebration, dignity, and joy as Night to Shine 2026 returns on Friday, February 13, welcoming individuals with special needs from across the region.

Night to Shine is a worldwide prom experience sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation, designed to honor people with special needs ages 14 and older. Each guest is treated like royalty for the evening — complete with a red carpet entrance, music, dancing, and a crowning moment that reminds them they are valued, celebrated, and loved.

This year’s Texarkana event carries the elegant theme “A Night in Paris.”

    Community Partners Making It Happen

Helping bring Night to Shine to life locally is Runnin’ WJ Ranch, a Texarkana-based organization dedicated to serving individuals with special needs through equine-assisted activities and therapeutic programs.

Runnin’ WJ Ranch works closely with children and adults who benefit from structured interaction with horses, which has been shown to improve balance, confidence, emotional regulation, communication skills, and overall well-being. Beyond therapy, the ranch focuses on building meaningful relationships and fostering a sense of belonging for its participants and their families.

Organizers say Night to Shine aligns perfectly with that mission — offering an experience that emphasizes dignity, inclusion, and celebration rather than limitation.

“Night to Shine isn’t just a dance,” organizers shared. “It’s a chance for our special needs community to be honored, seen, and celebrated for exactly who they are.”

A Night That Leaves a Lasting Impact

Since its launch, Night to Shine has grown into a global movement, with hundreds of host cities across the world participating each year. For many families, the event becomes a highlight of the year — not just for the guests, but for parents, caregivers, and volunteers who witness the joy and confidence the night brings.

Texarkana community members are encouraged to spread the word to families who may benefit and to follow updates using the hashtags:

After more than 40 years with commercial broadcasting, I decided to do my own thing by blogging, and taking "unconsultant" gigs. It affords me the ability to stay super involved in the community, but still, have plenty of time with my 3 granddaughters and other projects.
