The Runnin’ WJ Ranch Big Bass Round-Up is set to take place the weekend of May 10 and 11, 2024, offering Texarkana’s biggest and most popular bass tournament. This event is a major fundraiser to benefit Runnin’ WJ Ranch’s equine therapy programs for children, aiming to support the ranch’s mission and expand its services.

The tournament kicks off with a registration dinner on Friday evening, May 10 at Crossties Event Center, bringing together anglers and supporters. The main competition will take place on Saturday, May 11 at Texarkana’s Wright Patman Lake, where participants will compete for cash prizes. Weigh-in festivities will all be held at Sportsman’s Cove.

The tournament’s top prize is $5,000 for first place, $2,000 for second place, and $1,000 for third place. Additionally, there’ll be more than $1,500 given away in hourly prizes throughout the event.

To register for the tournament or obtain more information, interested parties can contact Brittany Rogers at 903.748.3411 or email her at brittany@runninwjranch.org. The event promises to be a significant weekend for the community and a meaningful way to support the life-changing work of Runnin’ WJ Ranch.

After more than 40 years with commercial broadcasting, I decided to do my own thing by blogging, and taking "unconsultant" gigs. It affords me the ability to stay super involved in the community, but still, have plenty of time with my 3 granddaughters and other projects.
