There is so much history in the Ark-La-Tex, and much of it is displayed by reenactors through programs at the Historic Old Washington Park. Coming up November 5, 2021, it is a day of reenactment of a “Town in Conflict”.

Schools from around the region are invited to attend this event that will take place throughout the park on Friday, November 5, 2021, from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm. These portrayals are historically accurate to our region during the Civil War. All are invited to educate themselves. Get more information from the Historic Washington State Park Facebook Page.

    Event Information Page:

Students join reenactors and park staff as they learn about military and civilian issues of The War Between the States. The Civil War was on of the most trying times in our nation’s
history. On November 5th, Historic Washington will be hosting “Town in Conflict,” a look at the many aspects of life during the bloody, costly years of the Civil War. Programs will be conducted throughout the park.

    Reservations required.

After more than 40 years with commercial broadcasting, I decided to do my own thing by blogging, and taking "unconsultant" gigs. It affords me the ability to stay super involved in the community, but still, have plenty of time with my 3 granddaughters and other projects.
