In a heart-wrenching incident that transpired on the evening of November 6, 2023, at approximately 4:40 p.m., the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department received a distressing 911 call. The call reported a shooting at 2501 Glendale, with the harrowing information that a wife and child had been shot by the husband on the scene.
The immediate response from law enforcement was swift, as arriving officers were informed that the suspected shooter had barricaded himself inside the residence with the victims. Faced with a critical and time-sensitive situation, patrol officers made the difficult decision to force entry into the home.
Inside the residence, officers discovered a scene of unimaginable tragedy. An adult male, an adult female, and a small child were found suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Tragically, the adult male and the child had succumbed to their injuries, marking a deeply distressing loss for the community.
Amidst the profound sorrow that enveloped the scene, there was a glimmer of hope as the adult female, despite her injuries, was still alive. She was swiftly attended to by LifeNet and transported to a nearby hospital for immediate medical care.
Out of respect for the privacy and emotional well-being of the victims’ families, the names of the victims are being withheld at this time. The authorities are diligently working to notify the next of kin and provide them with the support and assistance they need during this extraordinarily difficult period.
The entire Texarkana community is left in shock and mourning following this tragic event. Incidents of domestic violence and family violence are deeply distressing, and they remind us of the urgent need to address the underlying issues that can lead to such heartbreaking outcomes.

advising of a shooting at 2501 Glendale. The caller advised the wife and child had been shot by
the husband on scene. Arriving officers were told that the suspected shooter had barricaded
himself inside with the victims. Patrol officers forced entry into the residence to find an adult
male, adult female, and a small child suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The adult male
and the child were deceased. The adult female was still alive and transported to the hospital by
LifeNet. Names of the victims are being withheld until next of kin are notified.
