In a heart-wrenching turn of events, the Texarkana community mourns the loss of Rueben Larry, a 31-year-old local resident, who passed away earlier today from injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash. The incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday morning and has sent shockwaves through the tight-knit community.
According to Sgt. Billy McAnally, a dedicated traffic investigator, the tragic accident took place around 6:30 AM on Tuesday. Rueben Larry was riding his 2019 Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound on Buchanan Road when a northbound 2013 GMC pickup truck, driven by 47-year-old Terrmar Key of Monroe, Louisiana, attempted to turn left onto W. Wallace Drive. As the pickup truck made its left turn, it crossed paths with Larry’s motorcycle, resulting in a devastating collision.
The collision left Rueben Larry in critical condition, and he was immediately transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. Tragically, despite the best efforts of medical professionals, Larry succumbed to his injuries earlier this afternoon. The entire community is deeply saddened by the loss of a young life, and our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends during this difficult time.
The two passengers in Terrmar Key’s pickup truck also suffered injuries in the collision, though thankfully, their injuries were reported as minor. They were promptly transported to the hospital for medical care, and we wish them a speedy recovery.
As the community grapples with the shock of this tragic incident, it’s important to note that the crash is currently under investigation. Sgt. McAnally and his team will work diligently to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the accident and establish the sequence of events that led to this unfortunate outcome.
During these trying times, we kindly request that everyone keep the family and friends of Rueben Larry in their thoughts and prayers. The loss of a beloved community member is always a difficult ordeal, and the Texarkana community must come together to support one another during this challenging period.
Our hearts go out to Rueben Larry’s loved ones, and we hope they find strength and solace in the support of their friends and neighbors.
