At approximately 9:10 p.m., patrol officers responded to a report of a major vehicle accident on South Lake Drive at the Waggoner Creek Bridge, which is located just south of Caddo Street. When officers arrived, they discovered a single vehicle in the wooded area on the south side of the roadway that was fully engulfed in flames. While information is somewhat limited at this point, we have been able to establish that the vehicle was stolen minutes before from the Rock House Liquor Store in Texarkana, Arkansas. Based upon the preliminary investigation, the vehicle was travelling south on Lake Drive at a very high rate of speed when it failed to negotiate the curve. It left the roadway and struck a tree, immediately bursting into flames.
