As construction continues on the Interstate 30 widening project, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is alerting drivers to upcoming ramp changes along the westbound corridor near FM 989/Kings Highway.
Beginning around midday Friday, February 20, the I-30 westbound entrance ramp located east of FM 989/Kings Highway is scheduled to reopen to traffic.
At the same time, the westbound entrance ramp located west of FM 989/Kings Highway will close as part of ongoing construction efforts.
Electronic message boards are already in place to notify motorists of the changes. TxDOT reminds commuters that the I-30 frontage road system allows continuous travel eastbound from FM 989/Kings Highway to U.S. Highway 71/State Line Avenue and westbound from U.S. Highway 71/State Line Avenue to FM 989/Kings Highway without stopping at a traffic signal.
Drivers can monitor real-time traffic conditions at DriveTexas.org.
