Patriotic Americans love the Flag that represents our Nation. We have great respect for our National Colors and those that have devoted, or even sacrificed their lives under them. If your flag has become too worn, or tattered, Saturday, December 6 is a chance to dispose of it properly, and respectfully.
Veteran and Boys Scouts of America groups will periodically hold these ceremonies. Please don’t just throw your flag away. Just fold it as best you can, put it in a plastic bag, and take it to the VFW, American Legion, or any BSA group, and they will see that it gets the proper disposal, with the respect our flag deserves.
This solemn ceremony is performed from time to time by the Boy Scouts as a way to retire US Flags that have served their purpose but are too far gone to continue to display.
If you have a flag that needs to be retired, the Caddo Area Council Scouts of Pack 3 welcome you to bring it and participate in the ceremony with them on Saturday, December 6 at Redlick Middle School at 9:00 am.
