A beloved local tradition is rolling back into town as the 7th Annual Wagons for Veterans event is set for Saturday, March 15, 2025, at the Four States Fairgrounds. Hosted by the Vietnam Veterans of America, Texarkana Area Chapter #278, this fundraiser aims to support local disabled and needy veterans of all eras.
This family-friendly event kicks off at 10:30 a.m., offering visitors a chance to take in over 20 chuckwagons, classic car displays, antique tractors, and even a performance by square dancers. Kids can enjoy bounce houses, while history buffs and metalworking enthusiasts can check out demonstrations by the Iron Munchers. Local bands will also be providing live entertainment throughout the day.
One of the main highlights is the authentic chuckwagon meal, prepared the old-fashioned way in cast iron pots over an open fire. For just $18 per adult and $9 for children 12 and under, attendees can get a taste of history with a delicious, hearty meal. Food service starts at 11:30 a.m. and runs until supplies run out.
The event will officially open with a ceremony at 11:15 a.m., and a live auction will take place at 12:30 p.m., offering attendees a chance to bid on unique items while supporting a great cause.
Proceeds from the event will go toward helping local veterans and their families, ensuring they receive the assistance they need.
