The 80th annual Four States Fair & Rodeo is set to bring a week and a half of excitement to Texarkana from April 4 to April 13. As one of the city’s most beloved traditions, organizers are committed to keeping the fair a safe and enjoyable event for all ages by enforcing strict rules throughout the fairgrounds.
Law enforcement officers will be on-site to ensure a zero-tolerance policy for disruptive behavior. Officers will also strictly enforce the city’s curfew for minors, which is 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. Any juveniles under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian after curfew hours, or they risk receiving a curfew violation ticket.
Fairgoers are encouraged to take precautions against theft by keeping valuables out of sight, locking their vehicles, and parking in well-lit areas near the Rodeo Arena, where security patrols will be present.
To enhance security, all visitors will undergo metal detector screenings and bag searches. Attendees should avoid bringing large bags, as smaller handbags are preferred. Additionally, several key rules will be strictly enforced:

No sagging pants – Individuals violating this rule will be denied entry or removed.

No unsupervised groups of teenagers causing disruptions – Groups that cause disturbances will be escorted out.

No weapons permitted – Anyone found with a weapon will be arrested.
Children under 15 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times. In a further effort to ensure safety, parole and probation agents may assist police at the gates. Individuals banned from the fairgrounds will face citations or arrest if they attempt to trespass.
These measures aim to provide a secure and welcoming atmosphere for families to enjoy the fair’s rides, games, and entertainment. Police officers will be on patrol and available to address any concerns from attendees.
