14th Annual Runnin’ WJ Barrel Race is June 11-13 at the Fairgrounds

The biggest Ag event in the Ark-La-Tex happens this weekend at the Four States Fairgrounds in Texarkana Arkansas with the 14th Annual Runnin’ WJ Barrel Race bringing thousands of riders to town, and it is FREE entry for spectators.

June 11-13 it is the Runnin’ WJ Barrel Race, the largest non-profit barrel race in the world and is by far the largest Ag event of the year for us with at least 3,000 barrel racers making their way to Texarkana for a chance at almost $75,000 in money and prizes. Hotels are booked up in Texarkana and surrounding towns for this. Lisa Garner and the staff at the fairgrounds are building temporary stalls and will still need more room.

This event is free to the public. There will be vendors galore, and literally thousands of barrel racers.

We stopped in and spoke with Sam, Lisa, and Britney…

After more than 40 years with commercial broadcasting, I decided to do my own thing by blogging, and taking "unconsultant" gigs. It affords me the ability to stay super involved in the community, but still, have plenty of time with my 3 granddaughters and other projects.
