Schedule of 2021 Texarkana Area Independence Day Celebrations

By Jeff Easterling on June 22, 2021 City News, Entertainment, Events

The 4th of July is coming up and this year there are no mandates on the numbers of people gathered, though many still plan to be cautious. Here is a list of some of the bigger fireworks celebrations scheduled for the holiday weekend.

Not all celebrations are happening on July 4th or even that weekend, and some events are still being planned, so we will be updating when we get more info to add.

Nashville Arkansas has a big celebration planned for the weekend before on Saturday, June 26. It’s the “Nashville AR Stand Up for America“, there will be lots of activities and events well worth the $5 entry fee.

As the holiday weekend rolls around…
    JULY 3:
Atlanta Texas Summer Fest and Fireworks – Saturday, July 3, 5 pm to 10 pm, with food, vendors, live music, and one of the best fireworks shows in the Ark-La-Tex. The Atlanta Area Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the City of Atlanta put on a great show, free to the public.

Sparks Fly in July – Hope, Arkansas – Saturday, July 3, at Municipal Airport, Food Trucks, Games, Live Music, and fireworks after sundown. Canned donations will be accepted at the gate for “Hope in Action”.

Fouke Arkansas – Independence Day Celebration at Sanctuary of Hope Church located at 1005 North Monster Drive, Hwy 71 in Fouke. Saturday, July 3 with food, Christian music, and Fireworks activities start at 6:00 PM

    Sunday, July 4:
New Boston Freedom Fest happens on Sunday, July 4, festivities begin at 6:00 pm with food, vendors, and live entertainment. What has become a regional favorite, THE fireworks show will begin at 9:00 pm.

The Wake Village 4th of July Fireworks Celebration on July 4, all are being asked to continue to social distance and their individual groups and to have by enjoying one of the area’s top pytrotechnic shows beginning at 8:30 pm.

Jefferson Salutes America Forth of July at Otstott Park starting at 5:00 PM with kids games, live music, and fireworks at 9:30 PM

A couple that we really haven’t been able to get any concrete word on is Shreveport’s “Rockets Over the Red” and Texarkana’s “Sparks in the Park”.

With those events off the books at the moment we automatically think of all of the folks that will be able to get together in their neighborhoods for their own group “shows”. Please keep in mind your neighbor’s pets, and combat veterans that may be struggling with PTSD, and make sure all are aware that you will be setting off fireworks, especially those giant mortar rounds.

After more than 40 years with commercial broadcasting, I decided to do my own thing by blogging, and taking "unconsultant" gigs. It affords me the ability to stay super involved in the community, but still, have plenty of time with my 3 granddaughters and other projects.
