It is always a tragedy to lose a really good police officer to any circumstance, but our local law enforcement personnel are struggling today with the loss of Lieutenant Clay McClure. All knew him, and all loved him.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends, and our entire first responder community today. We also pray for their safety as they continue to serve the public in these dangerous times of uncertainty and illness. Thank you, Lieutenant McClure, Rest in peace.

    TTPD Media Release:

It is with a heavy heart that we share with you that  passed away at a local hospital last night after a lengthy battle with COVID. He was surrounded by his family and some of his closest brothers in blue.Lieutenant Clay McClure

Clay was 54 years old and worked for TTPD for 22 years. He worked as a patrol officer, supervisor, and narcotics investigator during his time with us.

Chief Kevin Schutte said, “Clay was more than a great cop. He was a mentor, a brother, and a lifelong friend whose legacy will live on in this organization. He will be missed.”

Please keep his wife, two children, and his friends and family in your thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time.

After more than 40 years with commercial broadcasting, I decided to do my own thing by blogging, and taking "unconsultant" gigs. It affords me the ability to stay super involved in the community, but still, have plenty of time with my 3 granddaughters and other projects.
