The Texarkana Animal Shelter will close temporarily due to COVID 19 exposure to employees. Officials will make sure that animals at the shelter will be taken care of, however, the adoption center will be closed until Tuesday, January 18.

Because employees of the Animal Care and Adoption Center have
been exposed to COVID-19 the city is closing the shelter starting today
until January 18th, 2022.The health and well being of our employees and the general public
whom they interact with is our highest priority of concern. Thank you for
