    City Manager Names New Chief of Police for T.A.P.D.

    Texarkana Arkansas City Manager, Jay Ellington has named Michael Kramm as our new Chief of Police for the TAPD. Kramm has tremendous experience in law enforcement and city government coming to Texarkana from his position as Assistant City Manager in League City, Texas.

    Media Release:

    Texarkana, Arkansas City Manager Jay Ellington has announced the appointment of Michael Kramm as Texarkana’s next Police Chief.

    Kramm was selected after a comprehensive, competitive nationwide search and with input from interviews by community leaders, law enforcement, and City department heads. “The number of qualified applicants tells me the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department is well respected”, Ellington said.

    “Chief Kramm’s broad experience and demonstrated abilities will be an asset to the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department”, said Ellington. “Public safety is one of the City’s highest priorities, and we are pleased to have Kramm take the lead in continuing to build upon our community’s legacy of excellence in policing”.

    Chief Kramm has his Bachelor’s Degree from LeTourneau University and his MBA from the University of Houston Clear Lake and is also a graduate of the FBI Academy. Chief Kramm’s first day on the job is set for October 24, 2022.
