The holiday spirit is about to hit Texarkana in full force as the 2023 Canadian Pacific and Kansas City Southern Holiday Train Tour, fondly known as “The KCS Holiday Express,” pulls into town on Wednesday, November 29, at 4:30 p.m.
This festive spectacle promises an evening of joy, music, and goodwill at the 4th Street Crossing downtown and the Railyard.
The train is scheduled to make a swift but memorable stop on Wednesday, November 29, with performances starting at 4:45 p.m. and concluding by 5:15 p.m. The train will bid farewell to Texarkana, rolling out of town by 5:30 p.m. Residents and visitors alike are encouraged to check the new RAILROAD WEBSITE for additional information and updates about the event.
Beyond the glittering lights and holiday tunes, the CPKC Holiday Train Tour holds a deeper purpose. It serves as a platform to raise donations and awareness for the commendable work carried out by non-profits dedicated to children and local food banks. Texarkana’s participation in the tour provides an opportunity for the community to contribute to these essential causes.
The Holiday Train, a symbol of festive generosity, is set to continue its journey to Shreveport, Louisiana, on the same day, departing from Texarkana at 5:30 p.m. Unfortunately, it’s anticipated that tours of the train cars will not be offered this year, but the vibrant performances on the brightly decorated stage are sure to captivate attendees.
Professional musicians, including Seaforth and Kiesza, will take to the stage, serenading the crowd with free concerts during the short but lively stop. These performances add an extra layer of holiday magic to the event, creating an unforgettable experience for all in attendance.
As part of its commitment to community welfare, the railroad will make generous donations to local non-profits for children at each stop, setting an example for attendees to do the same. Since its inception in 1999, the CPKC Holiday Train has been a force for good, raising over $22.5 million in funds and collecting more than 5 million pounds of food for community charities across North America.
Texarkana is gearing up to welcome the CPKC Holiday Train with open arms, embracing the spirit of giving and celebrating the season of goodwill. Don’t miss this chance to be part of a festive tradition that brings joy to the community while supporting important causes.
