Calling all area veterans and their families to come together for a day of camaraderie and fun at the 2024 Veterans Spring Fling, hosted by the Texarkana Area Veterans Council. The event will take place on Saturday, April 20, from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm at VFW Post 4562 on Highway 82 in Texarkana, Arkansas.
Attendees can look forward to a day filled with entertainment and delicious food. Free hotdogs and drinks will be provided, and food trucks will be onsite offering a variety of tasty treats. Children will have the opportunity to explore first responders and military vehicles while enjoying bounce houses and other exciting activities.
For the adults, there will be plenty of outdoor games to partake in, including a cornhole tournament and horseshoes. Organizers promise a lively atmosphere with activities suited for all ages.
In a recent discussion with leaders of area veteran organizations, the need for younger veterans to step into leadership roles was highlighted. Many organizations are seeking fresh perspectives and energy to continue their mission of supporting veterans and their families.
“We want to ensure that these veteran organizations continue to thrive and serve the community for years to come,” said one of the organization leaders. “The Spring Fling is not only a time for celebration but also an opportunity to encourage younger veterans to get involved and help lead these important initiatives.”
