The Texas High School “Tiger Marching Band” has received the prestigious honor of performing in the 60th Presidential Inaugural Parade in Washington, D.C., on January 20, 2025. This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity highlights the dedication and talent of the band, as well as the support of the Texarkana Independent School District (TISD) and the community.
The announcement was made with great excitement, acknowledging the months of hard work and coordination led by Jason Carter, who played a key role in securing the invitation. The Presidential Inaugural Committee selected the Tiger Band for this historic event, which will be witnessed by an audience of 700,000–900,000 along the parade route and millions more watching from home.
“This is a huge honor for Texarkana, TISD, Texas High, and the Tiger Band to be part of such a significant moment in our nation’s history,” said the announcement.
The band will embark on their journey to Washington, D.C., on Saturday, January 18. Beyond their parade performance on January 20, the itinerary includes sightseeing and special performances at iconic locations such as Mount Vernon, Arlington National Cemetery, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Fort McHenry, and the United States Capitol. The group will return to Texarkana on Thursday, January 23.

This historic moment underscores the hard work, talent, and spirit of the Tiger Band as ambassadors for Texarkana and TISD on a national stage.
