A day of fun, food, and fellowship is set for Thursday, July 3, as the community comes together for the Bridging Generations: Old School Meets New School BBQ & Bingo Bash. The event will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Crossties Event Center in downtown Texarkana, Arkansas.
This lively gathering is calling all senior citizens for a day filled with games, resources, good eats, and good company. Organizers say the event aims to promote community bonding while helping bridge generational gaps — an effort studies show encourages mutual respect and helps reduce age-based stereotypes.
Attendees can enjoy a free breakfast and lunch, enter to win door prizes, and even get a fresh haircut thanks to some of Texarkana’s top barbers, including Justin Roberts, BossMane TJ Hervey, and Kain Khaliq.
Vendor and exhibitor spaces are available, though limited, and organizers are still welcoming businesses, organizations, and individuals who wish to contribute through services or donations.
“This is about bringing people together, having fun, and making connections between generations,” said event organizer Luz Vazquez. “We’re excited to create a space where folks of all ages can learn from each other and build lasting relationships.”
