CHRISTUS Health announced that it has reached a temporary contract extension with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas (BCBSTX), ensuring that CHRISTUS hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, and physicians remain in-network for patients through July 31.
The month-long extension allows both organizations additional time to continue negotiating a long-term agreement that supports access to care across the communities CHRISTUS serves.
“Our priority has always been to ensure uninterrupted access to health care for our patients and communities,” said Ernie Sadau, CHRISTUS Health president and CEO. “This extension allows us to continue serving BCBSTX members while we work toward a sustainable, long-term solution that allows us to invest in our patients, caregivers, technology and facilities.”
Remaining in-network means that CHRISTUS services will continue to be offered to BCBSTX-insured patients at pre-negotiated, discounted rates, helping reduce out-of-pocket costs and simplify insurance claims.
CHRISTUS Health emphasized its ongoing commitment to transparency and collaboration throughout the negotiation process. The health system encourages patients to stay informed by visiting christushealth.org/bcbstx for the latest updates.
Patients with questions about their insurance coverage or care options should contact the customer service number listed on the back of their BCBSTX insurance card.
