Mainstreet Texarkana is getting ready for “Dine on the Line 2016” scheduled for October 1, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.. By planning the event a little bit earlier in the year for 2016, we all hope to avoid that cold, rainy weather that so many endured last year at the end of October.
Dine on the Line 2016 is a special event presented by Main Street Texarkana that brings citizens from both sides of Stateline Avenue together to share good times and a meal from Naaman’s Championship BBQ. Plans also include a “toast to the cities” for a photo op that will take place near sunset. A big part of this photo will be the super-sized table that will run down Stateline from the Federal Building to Broad Street.
There will be live music from the Moss Brothers Band, Better Block Texarkana also returns that Saturday for pop-up vendors to sell their goods. Children’s activities are also in the plans, including a sidewalk drawing contest. Downtown restaurants, businesses and local artists will all have a part in this year’s event.
The BBQ will be ready starting at 3:00 p.m. but organizers are hoping that participants will stay downtown and be a part of the historic photo scheduled for near sundown. There will be lots to do and see including many local vendors planning to be a part of the event, including our friends from Scottie’s Grill and Be the Blessing Bakery among others.
People are encouraged to get tickets for Dine on the Line early and they are available at the Main Street Texarkana office and Website but they will also be available at the entrance to the event on October 1st.
