It’s being reported that after 18 years operating as “The Electric Cowboy” in Texarkana Arkansas. The popular dance and party spot will be closing the doors at the end of business this Saturday night November 5.

Open for many years in Texarkana as “The Pines Country Club” out on Highway 67, lots of people have lots of memories from the bar. Some relationships began at the “Electric Cowboy”, but even more relationships ended there. For some the club holds many happy memories, but for others not so much. We would love to hear about some of your memories. Share in the comments below.

We originally saw the post on social media announcing the closure, so we reached out to operators of the club, but have received no response to our questions as of yet.

In a post on the bar’s Facebook Page:

    Attention Texarkana!
This Saturday will be the the last night of Electric Cowboy Texarkana. 18 years is one hell of a run, I don’t care what anyone says. First and foremost, We would like to thank each and everyone of our staff over the past 18 years, most of yall have been great

Next, we would like to send a very sincere thank you to all the customers, many of which I call friends, who have graced us with your presence over the past 18 years. Without you, none of this would have been possible.

So, PLEASE make sure and come out this weekend for one last PARTY!!!

Got memories from the Electric Cowboy – Texarkana… or the Pines Country Club you can share in the comments?

After more than 40 years with commercial broadcasting, I decided to do my own thing by blogging, and taking "unconsultant" gigs. It affords me the ability to stay super involved in the community, but still, have plenty of time with my 3 granddaughters and other projects.

I personally have no good memories from that bar or any other… wait… I had a good time at a club called Toulouse in Austin once, but to each his own 🙂
