The Wynn-Price Plantation Society will be hosting a primitive Civil War Living History Camp June 2 – 4 at the Historic Wynn-Price Plantation grounds in Garland Arkansas. The camp will feature living history demonstrations and this year is the first that the reenactment community has been invited for demonstrations throughout the weekend.

The grounds will open at noon on Friday for folks to come set up camp. This is a primitive camp. Wood and water will be provided. There is an open air privy out behind the garage behind the house. The main event is on Saturday. The Major John Burton Camp has it’s annual meeting at the house and serves dinner on the grounds late Saturday afternoon. We have had a living history display and firing demonstrations for the last three years. This is the first year that we have invited the reenacting community. The house will be open for tours throughout the day. Two new VA markers will be dedicated for members of the Wynn-Worsham family that are buried in the family cemetery under the Magnolia tree in the yard. The memorial service will be held late Sat. afternoon. The living history demonstrations are unscripted and will depend on the turnout. If we have enough men to skirmish we will. Artillery in all forms is encouraged. We have a firing line set for the front yard of the house with 1/2 mile of unobstructed cotton fields to play with.
