Excess Rocks from L.E. Primary School Project Available to Public

Officials with the Liberty Eylau School District are offering rocks from the Primary School construction project to the public for those that may want a piece of the “Old Rock School” that was originally dedicated in 1939.

L.E. Director of Communications, Matt Fry, told us,

Excess rock from the Liberty-Eylau Primary School will be available for the public to pick up beginning at 7:00 AM, July 13 until Sunday July 23. Members of the Liberty-Eylau community may come and pick them up at the construction site. No one will be available to help load them. Everyone will be responsible for loading their own rocks.

Please no contractors at this time.

Our goal is to allow as many people as possible to have a rock for their personal memory.

The original “Rock School” was dedicated in the Liberty Eylau community by Congressman Wright Patman in 1939. A new, and modern primary school is being built in it’s place, and rocks from the old school will be used in the facade of the new building. For many that have special memories of the old building are welcome to take rocks.

After more than 40 years with commercial broadcasting, I decided to do my own thing by blogging, and taking "unconsultant" gigs. It affords me the ability to stay super involved in the community, but still, have plenty of time with my 3 granddaughters and other projects.
