Get your best tomatoes off the vine and put that Salsa recipe to work and get ready for the 8th Annual Best Salsa in the Ark-La-Tex Contest at the Texarkana Farmer’s Market at 305 Texas Boulevard in downtown on Saturday, July 29.
Time to dust off your best salsa recipe and put it to the test. If you’re interested in participating all you’ll need to do is bring four pints of your salsa to the market at 305 Texas Boulevard and register anytime between 7:30 and 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 29.
Tasting starts at the end of registration, winners are chosen by the public, and results will be announced at 11:00 a.m.
This year will feature 6 categories of competition: mild, medium, hot, smokin’ hot, specialty or restaurant, and a children’s category for participants 13-years-old and under.
Lots of area vendors will be on hand with all of their goods, and live music from “Jazz by Bryan and Cathey”.
