The Texarkana Arkansas Police Department is investigating a shooting incident that occurred on 35th Street near Kilpatrick Elementary school just after students were released for the day.

TAPD is currently working a shooting that occurred in the 1300 block of East 35th Street at 3:15pm today. TAPD responded to several 911 calls of a shots fired just off the roadway in front of the Quill Creek Apartment complex. Initial investigation has revealed that an altercation occurred between individuals when unknown suspects began firing several gunshots at individuals involved in the altercation. After a short time, 2 victims arrived at Wadley hospital with non life threatening injuries. This investigation is ongoing.
Witnesses report that students were walking home from classes in the area at the time. It is not believed that any children were injured in the incident.
