TTPD conducted a traffic stop that resulted in the arrests of Wyndel Shepherd, Jr., 26, and Jalen Nix, 17, for numerous drug charges following a traffic stop Sunday night. A judge set bond for each of the men at a total of $181,000.

    TTPD Press Release:

The Texarkana Texas Police Department arrested Wyndel Shepherd, Jr., 26, and Jalen Nix, 17, for numerous drug charges following a traffic stop Sunday night.  Both men are from Texarkana, Texas.

Officer Wade Johnson stopped a 2012 Hyundai for a minor traffic violation in the 4300 block of Texas Boulevard at 7:52 p.m. on Sunday.  When Johnson initially approached the driver’s side window to speak to Shepherd, he immediately noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.  Nix was the sole passenger.  After Officer Misty Tyler arrived to assist Johnson, they conducted a search of the vehicle.

Inside the vehicle, officers found marijuana stored in a mason jar, a bottle of codeine syrup, baggies containing eighteen Xanax pills, twelve Oxycodone pills, ten pills believed to be MDMA (Ecstasy), cocaine, crack cocaine, and methamphetamine.  In addition to several scales, they also located a loaded pistol under each of the front seats.

Both Shepherd and Nix were arrested for seven counts of Possession of Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana, and Unlawfully Carrying a Weapon and transported to the Bi-State Jail without incident.  A judge set bond for each of the men at a total of $181,000.

After more than 40 years with commercial broadcasting, I decided to do my own thing by blogging, and taking "unconsultant" gigs. It affords me the ability to stay super involved in the community, but still, have plenty of time with my 3 granddaughters and other projects.
