Authorities are investigating the deaths of an elderly couple in Bowie County after deputies were dispatched to their home on Sunday, November 17, 2024. At around 3:00 p.m., Bowie County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call reporting two suspicious deaths at a residence in the 800 block of County Road 4316.

Upon arrival, deputies found the bodies of Billy Don English, 86, and Sethiena Trudie English, 85, inside their home. The circumstances surrounding their deaths were not consistent with natural causes, prompting authorities to treat the situation as suspicious. Investigators from the Bowie County Sheriff’s Office, along with Crime Scene Analysts from the Texarkana Texas Police Department (TTPD), were called to the scene to assist in the investigation.

TTPD Crime Scene Analysts Marc Sillivan and Spencer Price processed the home for evidence, while Bowie County investigators continued to gather information to determine the circumstances of the deaths.

Bowie County Justice of the Peace Susie Spelling ordered that the bodies of both victims be sent to the Southwest Institute of Forensic Science in Dallas for autopsies. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to piece together the events leading to the couple’s deaths.

“The situation is still under investigation, and we are following up on all leads,” said Captain David Biggar of the Bowie County Sheriff’s Office. “We urge anyone with information about these deaths to come forward.”

Anyone with relevant information is encouraged to contact Captain Biggar at 903-798-3150, or to call the Bowie County Sheriff’s Office at 903-628-6815 or 903-798-3149.

Authorities have not released any further details at this time, and the investigation remains active as law enforcement works to determine the cause of death for the couple.

This is a developing story, and additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
