Community Rallies to Donate Water for Randy Sam’s Outreach Shelter

A little over a week ago the call went out that the Randy Sam’s Shelter was in desperate need for bottled water. People immediately began bringing cases of water. This weekend some local businesses got together and did something amazing.

From the original blog post individual people started donating cases of water, then groups and clubs got involved and brought in case after case. Then throughout the week the word got out to local businesses and organizations like Verizon Wireless, Church On The Rock, Pop-A-Lock of Texarkana, Law Offices of Bobby Howell, 3 Chicks Feed, Time Smart Phone Repair, Beach Equipment, Vapor Stop, Young, Thornton & Sheppard Insurance, New Boston Concrete, Twice as Nice Security, Lawrence Termite & Pest Control, Jack Yates Drywall, CLB Engineering, Four States Furniture, Serenity Hospice, Miller Bowie Supply, and Wal-mart. These businesses and others along with the many amazing volunteers that help at the shelter all of the time all got together and delivered 20 pallets of bottled water to the shelter this last weekend.

Together these businesses and citizens of Texarkana and the area have donated more than 40,000 bottles of water. Which is a true blessing. It won’t last that long, as many people and groups depend on the Randy Sam’s Outreach Shelter to survive, and not just for water, but food and basic life necessities. So, when you can, make a donation.

After more than 40 years with commercial broadcasting, I decided to do my own thing by blogging, and taking "unconsultant" gigs. It affords me the ability to stay super involved in the community, but still, have plenty of time with my 3 granddaughters and other projects.
