Curfew Times for Teens in Texarkana

0

We recently reached out to T.A.P.D. and T.T.P.D. for some clarification on curfew times for teenagers in Texarkana on both the Texas and Arkansas side of Stateline Avenue.

The rules are almost exactly the same in all aspects for both Texarkana, Arkansas and Texarkana, Texas.

The rule is, kids under the age of 18 years old should not be out and about without a parent from 11:00 pm to 6:00 am on Sunday through Thursday. Friday from 12:01 a.m. until 6 a.m. and the same for Saturday and Sunday. On days when school is in session, the curfew is also in effect from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Of course, there are exceptions to the law – such as being with a parent or it is an emergency situation. If an officer finds a juvenile out during curfew hours and none of the exceptions apply, they can be issued a citation.

What many don’t understand is these hours don’t just apply to those cruising up and down Stateline or hanging out at a parking lot with friends. It covers those that are at restaurants and businesses too – including the movie theater. You will want to check the end times of the show if you plan on dropping them off to be sure that it lets out early enough for them to get back home in time.
