Some great live entertainment is lined up the weekend of October 3 & 4 in Texarkana. Our community partners at Tony Langford Roofing and Whiskey River Country Club bring you this list. Get out and have some fun this weekend.
Saturday kicks off with the 3rd Annual Health on the Line, presented by Texas A&M University–Texarkana. From 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in front of the Federal Building downtown, this event will spotlight community health and wellness with live music from Mayson Garner, free health screenings, wellness information booths, food trucks, and door prizes. The event is free to attend, and vendors are still being accepted at TexarkanaHMP@gmail.com.
In the afternoon, downtown transforms into a street festival for the 2nd Annual Oktoberfest on Main from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at 3rd & Main. Admission is free, with beer wristbands available for $40 and entry to the Bier Olympics for $20. Attendees can look forward to live music from Michael Rhodes Jive Band at 5 p.m. and Blackstrap at 7 p.m., along with German-style games, a petting zoo, beer donkeys, bounce houses, face painting, food trucks, local vendors, and college football on a giant LED screen. The Bier Olympics begin at 6 p.m., with a $250 cash prize and trophy on the line. Wristbands and entries can be purchased at the event or preordered online through TicketLeap. All proceeds go toward the revival and improvement of downtown Texarkana.
That evening, one of Texarkana’s most beloved charity events returns with Hospice of Texarkana’s 16th Annual Jeans & Bling fundraiser, taking place from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Texarkana Convention Center. This year’s theme, “@ the Beach,” brings tropical vibes to the gala, featuring a performance by The Landsharks, a Jimmy Buffett tribute band, plus a Celebrity Lip Sync Contest. Guests can also enjoy buffet dining, live and silent auctions, and a raffle offering big prizes like dream vacations and room makeovers. This year also marks Hospice of Texarkana’s 40th anniversary. And for those looking for hard-hitting entertainment, Hype & Glory Wrestling returns to the Texarkana Arkansas VFW Post 4562 on Highway 82. Doors open at 6 p.m. with bell time at 7 p.m., promising another night of action-packed professional wrestling.
