Deputies with the Miller County Sherrif’s Office are investigating a Thursday afternoon shooting at a Genoa Arkansas residence located at State Highway 196 and Miller County 290. One person was shot and transferred to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The homeowner claims that he has been robbed multiple times over the past few months, but official information is limited at this time. This is a developing story, and we will update when more information is available.

The homeowner did not require medical attention. The other party died at a local hospital. He will be sent to Little Rock to the Medical Examiner to determine the cause of death and for positive identification.
There is a possibility of several witnesses at the residence at the time of the shooting. The Miller County Sheriff’s Office is actively seeking information on who those witnesses are.
The circumstances around the shooting continue to be investigated. At this time, no determination about justification or criminal charges have been decided. Once the investigation is completed the file with be sent the Miller County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

Thursday November 2, 2017 the Miller County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a residence at State Highway 196 and Miller County 290 near 1:30 p.m. A shooting had reportedly occurred in the residence. The homeowner in Genoa AR shot a person in his home. Multiple shots were fired. One person was transported to a local hospital and is receiving treatment. The homeowner has been interviewed by the Miller County Sheriff’s Office. The investigation is ongoing.
