Around 9:30 pm on Monday, Department of Public Safety officers, and the Liberty Eylau Fire Department responded to a major accident on Highway 59 southbound involving a pick-up truck pulling a camper trailer.
The pick-up truck and camper left the highway and overturned. All three occupants of the pickup truck were basically unscathed in the accident that occurred just south of Buchanan Loop Road on Highway 59 south.
Traffic was slowed to one lane as it took a little over four hours for crews to clear debris. The cause of the accident was unknown but remains under investigation.
