    Multi-State Police Chase of Suspected ATM Thieves Ends in Texarkana

    Sirens were wailing in South Texarkana early Friday morning a little after 5:00 am when a police chase of suspected ATM thieves that began in Hope Arkansas ended on South Lake Drive in Texarkana, Texas.

    Hope Police Media Release:

    On December 17, 2021 at approximately 445am, officers of the Hope Police Department were alerted that four individuals were actively attempting to break into an ATM machine located at Bank OZK at 6th and Main Street in Hope, Arkansas.

    Officers located the suspect vehicle, a flatbed truck dragging a chain behind it, fleeing the area. A vehicle pursuit ensued which led HPD officers westbound on Interstate 30 toward Texarkana, Arkansas. Miller County Sherriff’s Office, Texarkana Police Department, and Arkansas State Police were advised of and joined the pursuit as officers entered Texarkana, Arkansas. Arkansas State Police took over the pursuit and was able to get the vehicle stopped in the area of South Lake Drive in Texarkana, Texas. Two occupants fled on foot. Texarkana Arkansas Police Department K9 Unit responded to the scene and located one of the occupants and took him into custody.

    This investigation is still ongoing.
